The 2008 Regular Legislative Session – which started on March 31 and ends on June 23 - offers hope and excitement for the children of Louisiana. Public education must be a top priority for true change in our economy, lower crime rates, a healthy population, reduced incarceration rates, and an enhanced quality of life for citizens.  We must continue the energy and momentum that propels our students forward.

The Cowen Institute for Public Education Initiatives at Tulane tracks and provides a weekly update to educators and administrators on pre-filed bills and those filed during legislative session related to pre K-12 education, especially those that affect schools in New Orleans.  We also provide updates on what bills related to pre K-12 education come up in the House and Senate Education Committees.

If you would like more information on specific bills, please contact Nash Molpus at 504-274-3686 or nmolpus@tulane.edu.
