Our Work
Research | Public Policy | Clearinghouse | Programs
The work carried out at the Cowen Institute has been broadly categorized into four areas:
- Applied Research, to understand how systems of public schools can be successful and determine how to measure their performance;
- Public Policy, to identify, evaluate, and advance educational policy that is informed by research-based best practices and grassroots advocacy;
- Programming, to develop, launch, and support programs that have proven to increase student achievement; and
- Clearinghouse, to support success in public schools by facilitating the sharing of knowledge and by
serving as the conduit for local public schools to directly access the myriad of experts and resources available at Tulane University.
